How can you provide on-site support and much does it cost?

Simply put, most computer problems can be most easily fixed on-site with minimal inconvenience to your day and business practices.  Often incorrect configuration, damaged or missing files or drivers, or customer education solve the problems being encountered.  In these instances, on-site support is much more effective and costs us less than providing other means of support.  In instances where we must take the computer back to our shop, we provide free delivery back to you after repairs are complete.

We offer a variety of support packages with something that will fit any budget.  Contact us to discuss your needs and how we can solve them.

What types of support do you provide?

We provide many types of support to our customers. Some of the services we provide are:

Hardware / software troubleshooting

Backup and disaster recovery

New equipment and installation

Staff training

Network installation and configuration

Virus prevention and removal

Database design and development

Software development

Internet / Intranet development

Technology consultation

While this list is not exhaustive, it should give you an idea of the wide range of solutions we provide.

I've been keeping my equipment operating, why can't I continue doing that?

You most definitely can, but is that what you are in business to do?  Often times we find that people have been spending an inordinate amount of time maintaining their PCs and related equipment, not focusing on what they are in business to do.  Due to our experience and training, we can frequently correct problems in a fraction of the amount of time it takes others.  This allows you the time needed to focus on your business, not maintaining your computer equipment.

How much does it cost to build a web site?

Unfortunately this is a question without an easy answer.  It really depends up on what you want.  Typical Internet sites can be done for about $75 per page.  Ecommerce sites will cost more.  Many clients begin with a smaller site and as time passes add new pages to expand their site.

If I build it will they come?

As much as we would like this answer to be a resounding 'Yes', it is unfortunately 'No'.  Customers will not come running to you just because you go on-line.  Your Internet site is used in much the same way as other traditional marketing methods.  What makes the Internet different is that you can present much more information about your product or service to your customers than would be possible with traditional marketing methods.

How do I make sure my site is effective?

There are many things you can do to make sure your web site is working as hard for you as it can.

  1. Make sure it's listed in all the major search engines.  This in and of itself is not an easy task.  The page design, structure, use of "META" tags all play a role in determining your ranking in search engines.
  2. Promotion, promotion, and promotion.  While this may sound like a paradox, you must continually market your web site for it to be effective.  Every item that leaves your office should have your URL prominently displayed.  Business cards, invoices, and letterhead should all have your URL displayed.  This places your Internet site in front of your customers and, more importantly, in front of your prospective customers.  Is your URL on all the things that leave your office?  How about on your Yellow Pages add?  Doing this will do a lot for the effectiveness of your site.
  3. Update content.  People do not want to visit a site that hasn't been changed in the past two years.  Make sure there is changing and relevant content for your visitors to see.

I've been thinking of doing my Internet site myself. Can I do it?

Most definitely.  Before embarking on a do-it-yourself Internet site though, ask yourself the following questions.

  1. How much time do I think I will have to spend working on my Internet site and keeping it up to date?
  2. Do I have the necessary knowledge to build the site, list it with all the search engines, and construct it in such a way that search engines will index it properly?  (This learning curve can be steep.)
  3. Do I have access to a server that can host my site?
  4. What am I really in business to do?  Build Internet sites, or something else?

The answer to these questions may not be readily obvious, and unfortunately we can't answer them for you.

Creating an effective Internet site takes quite a bit of time.  Most business owners don't have the time needed to effectively develop or maintain an Internet site.  Top that with the fact that most don't have the knowledge or software needed, and it can become an daunting task.

Most business owners are much better at handling their business than the business of creating and maintaining a Internet site.  After all, that's why we are here.  To help you create an on-line presence that is professionally developed and effective.
